Up to the Leiter Alm by gondola basket lift
The legendary gondola basket lift carries you from Algund up to the Leiter Alm hut – right onto the edge of South Tyrol's largest nature park. Spanning more than 33,000 hectares, the Texel Group rises from the Merano basin to well over 3,000 metres. Once at the top, you'll find panoramic trails, the Spronser Seen lakes – the largest high-alpine lake district in South Tyrol – and the famous Merano High Mountain Trail, whose stages start conveniently from here.

From here, trails lead to the Schwarze Lacke forest lake, the Naturnser Alm hut and on to the Hochwart. The cable car runs all year round – in summer, every day from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
